Yarden Chardonnay Odem Organic Vineyard. Vintage 2012
The 2012 Yarden Chardonnay Odem Organic Vineyard is a rich and complex wine showing characters of ripe pears and apricots with nuances of tropical fruits, fresh flowers and hints of mineral. The wine is quite full-bodied with a backdrop of oak and a long satisfying finish.
Odem Vineyard Chardonnay is already enjoyable and will continue to please for up to about seven years from the vintage. We enjoy this wine with a wide range of richly flavored preparations of fish, poultry and free range veal. We have even been seen enjoying Odem Chardonnay with ox tail stew.
Odem Vineyard has been farmed organically since 1998. The vineyard is the coolest and highest vineyard in Israel at an elevation of just under 4,000 feet. The wine fermented and aged sur lies in French oak barrels for seven months.

The Galilee (or Galil) is the most northern, and generally considered the best, appellation in Israel. The highest quality area within the appellation is the Golan Heights (or simply the Golan), the coldest region in Israel. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau rise from 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level to 1,200 meters (3,900 feet) and receive snowfall in the winter. The Golan Heights Winery is located in the town of Katzrin, in the central Golan.
